I highly suggest you guys make a trip to R&V. I must say, they have done a phenomenal job with the limited Michigan natural resources! I went today and wasn't expecting much... Now I'm looking forward to the next time I can get up there!
They do have some nasty hard sections and dual lockers are required on numerous trails/areas. But they have quite an impressive assortment for mild and stockers too. If you're just used to two tracks, this place will be an eye opener
And their map is pretty well laid out with what you can expect on each trail.
Anyways, just thought I'd share my excitement with the new park. And fwiw, I did a single day trip today. Left at 6:45am, fueled up, aired up since my jeep tires were all flat, and with a rest stop was there by 9:45 so I could get signed in by park open at 10am. IMHO, a 2.5 - 3hr trip there isn't bad at all for a great day of wheeling. And I believe camping is free with admission if you want to make a two day (and there are more than enough trails to keep ya having fun for two days).
